BOLT

BOLT program at June Jordan High SchoolThe San Francisco City Attorney’s Office is partnering with the San Francisco Paramedic Association to organize the BOLT program.

BOLT offers the general public free 90-minute trainings in basic lifesaving skills such as emergency assessment, CPR, AED, choking, and massive bleeding control. As a result, we hope that participants will feel more confident and empowered to act when called upon as Good Samaritan bystanders in the event of an emergency.

The BOLT program is in support of another initiative from the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office involving a city-wide AED (Automated External Defibrillator) database registration and an emergency response smartphone app. Learn more about Local Lifesavers.

The primary goal of Local Lifesavers is to improve sudden cardiac arrest survival rates with the participation of Good Samaritan bystanders. BOLT training increases the pool of trained bystanders in San Francisco.
